Empowering the Ordinary Families: Unveils Groundbreaking Solar Tech at Solar & Storage Live Africa

From March 18th to 20th, 2024, we participated in the Solar & Storage Live Africa exhibition in Johannesburg, South Africa. During this event, we showcased groundbreaking technologies, along with relevant applications and products, which attracted a large number of visitors. Despite our booth being just 18 square meters, visitors flocked continuously, keeping our company representatives busy throughout the event. In the span of merely three days, the number of visitors far exceeded that of some larger booths.

Visitors showed a keen interest in this technology, which differs from traditional solar products. They spent considerable time at our booth, watching videos and examining products. Often, they engaged in discussions with our staff for several minutes to even an hour. Many expressed that this technology represents the future of the solar industry.

Exhibitions serve as windows to understand the industry, market, suppliers, and user demands. Through this exhibition, we gained insights into the solar industry trends in different markets. We also observed the alignment of suppliers’ products with specific markets and user groups.What is the current state of the solar energy industry in the African market? What direction is it headed in the future? Why are visitors so interested in our technology, solutions, and products? Let’s analyze these points one by one.

Current State of the Solar Energy Market

Information gathered from exhibitors who have participated in this exhibition multiple times indicates a decrease in the number of visitors compared to previous editions. Upon analysis, we unanimously attribute this decline to the past few years being a phase of explosive demand and capacity growth in the solar energy industry. Capital has been concentrated in solar power plants, distributed grid-tie systems, and off-grid systems exceeding 5KW for residential use. With numerous manufacturers entering the industry during this boom, once the hype subsides, market demand growth fails to keep up with the increase in solar product output. This leads to excess manufacturing capacity.

Information obtained from relevant users also largely confirms this viewpoint. For households capable of installing solar energy systems, considered middle to high-end users, a significant portion have already installed such systems. This has resulted in a substantial decrease in remaining demand.

Direction of the Solar Energy Industry

Apart from middle to high-end users, there is a large number of low-end users who have not yet to adopt solar energy. It’s not that they cannot afford related solar products, but rather, the current product categories lack options suitable for ordinary families. Moreover, profit-driven capital often overlooks this sector, resulting in fewer developments for small-scale systems and budget-friendly products.

However, areas where the ordinary families are situated often suffer from inadequate electricity infrastructure, leading to frequent power outages. Additionally, normal electricity expenses pose a significant burden for average households. These households, which need affordable electricity the most, often cannot find suitable solar energy systems within their purchasing power due to most manufacturers’ market positioning issues.

Hence, in the future solar energy market, the electricity demands of ordinary families and the demand for affordable solar energy systems will constitute a significant portion of the market.

Advantages of Our Technology and Solutions

Firstly, our core technology is E-Hybrid, an innovative technology applied in areas such as solar controllers, inverters, and motor controllers. According to the judgments of attendees at the exhibition, this technology and its associated products represent significant potential in future solar energy markets, potentially bringing about a revolution in the solar energy industry and energy storage products.

E-Hybrid Technology

The core of E-Hybrid technology lies in its complementarity. Solar/AC/battery parallel inputs dynamically complement each other, resolving the issue of solar energy instability. Additionally, as solar power directly drives the loads, with excess solar power charging the battery, the majority of solar energy bypasses the battery, thus extending the lifespan of the battery by at least twice.

The operating mode of the E-Hybrid system is as follows:

  • When solar power is higher than loads, solar power drive the loads directly, and excess solar power charger the battery in the same time.
  • When solar power is lower than the loads, solar power & battery/AC power will drive the loads in a parallel mode. Battery/AC power supplement the missing solar power in a dynamic mode, to form a stable output power, and relevant to the loading power.

As shown in the comparison between the E-Hybrid solar system and traditional solar systems in the above diagram, it can be observed that in the E-Hybrid solar system, even when solar energy is weak, it can be directly utilized without the need to switch to other energy sources. The utilization rate of solar energy in the E-Hybrid system is more than 30% higher than that of traditional solar systems.

As mentioned above, at the same cost, E-Hybrid technology can bring the following benefits to users:

  • Doubled battery lifespan
  • Simpler installation and operation

Application and Energy Flow of E-hybrid Solar Power System VS Normal System

Secondly, our current solutions and products primarily target the needs of ordinary families. The typical cost-effective solar energy solution suitable for ordinary families, such as systems ranging from 0.5 to 3KW, presents the following comparison between products equipped with E-Hybrid technology and traditional solar products:

From the comparison of the above two pictures, we can see obvious differences:

E-Hybrid System

Solar power directly drives the loads while excess power charge the battery.

Solar power and battery drive the loads in a parallel mode when solar power is insufficient.

Most of the solar power not going through the battery.

Normal solar system:

Solar power charges the battery first, then battery output to the loads.

Solar power must go through the battery.

Solar power can not drive the loads directly.

Battery can not be charged and discharged at the same time. Need to wait the battery charged, then to use the energy.
